The School of Richmond Ballet Ensembles provide a performing outlet for our serious students as well as create a community outreach group representing The School. Each year, auditions are held and interested students from Middle Level I through the Upper Level Programs are grouped into two performing groups. The SRB Ensemble II is comprised of Middle Level students as a training group to prepare for the SRB Ensemble, our elite group of Upper Level Students. These students must be very dedicated to their training and passion for dance as they work four to six days in class each week in addition to their rehearsals.
The Enchanted Toy Shop!
Produced by Richmond Ballet Artistic Director Stoner Winslett

In The Enchanted Toy Shop, the dolls sit all day long as customers come in to look at the toys. Sometimes, a doll goes home with a very excited child, but the dolls that are left behind havesomething to look forward to as well.
Each evening, after darkness begins to fall, the shop closes and the fairies of the night fly in and wake up the dolls to perform fantastic dances, inspired by the ballet world’s favorite stories, including The Sleeping Beauty, The Nutcracker, Cinderella and Don Quixote. The dolls all dance with great joy until the clock strikes midnight, when the fairies carefully put them back to sleep until the next night.
Audiences will be quick to recognize the music of Tchaikovsky, Prokofiev, and Mendelssohn and will be happy to see the hallmarks of some of the ballet world’s most beloved choreography from Petipa, Beriozoff, and Franklin, with additional pieces bearing the choreographic talents of Richmond Ballet Artistic Director Stoner Winslett, Ballet Master Malcolm Burn, SRB Director, Judy Jacob, and Tara Penick, SRB Ensembles Coordinator.
