The magic of dance only happens when the infrastructure needs of the organization are met first.
Thanks to a generous gift of the Canal Street building in 1997 by Reynolds Metals Corporation and the financial support from the $5 million “Raising the Roof” campaign, Richmond Ballet is one of a few select dance organizations in the United States to train, rehearse, and perform in its own valuable facility. The Ground and First floors are being renovated, and when completed, will increase the organization’s capacity to serve its artists, students, patrons, and staff. Rejuvenating Richmond Ballet’s home on Canal Street will enhance the region’s culturally rich and artistically diverse community by highlighting the building as a center for regional, statewide, national, and international dance.
