Road To The Future

Dear Friends,

We have committed our time and resources to the Road to the Future Campaign because we believe the time is now to take Richmond Ballet, The State Ballet of Virginia, to the next level of support. With an unwavering commitment to awaken and uplift the human spirit, Richmond Ballet continues to preserve and advance the art form of ballet through arresting performances, outstanding training and a dedication to education and outreach. Following remarkable performance successes in London and at the Kennedy Center, Richmond Ballet was the first American ballet company to be invited to the ‘Meet in Beijing’ Arts Festival held in May 2015 at the spectacular National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing. In May of 2017 Richmond Ballet returned to The Joyce Theatre for its 4th NYC tour and presented 4 new works created at Richmond Ballet and never before seen in NYC.

Having celebrated its 40th anniversary, The School of Richmond Ballet provides superior dance training to over 900 students, many of whom go on to dance professionally. Minds In Motion, in existence for more than twenty years, continues to grow, reaching nearly 2,000 elementary school students in Central Virginia. The Road to the Future Campaign has raised 60% of its goal of $10,000,000 to support these Core Needs of Richmond Ballet:

National & International Touring
Creative Capital
Building Enhancements

Founding Artistic Director Stoner Winslett has led Richmond Ballet since 1980, consistently adhering to the mission, as well as cultural and financial integrity. Celebrating our 60th anniversary, we are at a significant crossroads in our history and we invite you to invest with us in Richmond Ballet, The State Ballet of Virginia.
