Invitation to the Dance Camps

Ages 5-7

Join us for a ballet fairytale adventure! This camp invites our youngest dancers to explore classical ballet through movement classes that emphasize creativity, coordination, and musicality. Students will dive into the story, music, costumes and scenery of beloved fairytale ballets and share their own version of the classic in a special parent showing at the end of the week.

June 15–18, 2026: Monday-Thursday 9:00 AM-11:00 AM – Cinderella
*SRB will be closed on Friday, June 19th in observation of Juneteenth.
Camp Tuition: $180

July 27-31, 2026: Monday-Friday 9:00 AM –11:00 AM – The Sleeping Beauty
Camp Tuition: $225

(A 10% discount will apply if both June and July camps are booked for a total price of $364.50)

SRB Dance Camps

Ages 8-12

Get ready for a fun and exciting dance adventure! This camp features classes in Ballet, Theatre Dance, Character Dance, and Pantomime/Storytelling, often used in story ballets. Campers will be grouped according to their current ballet level. (Please note: these camps are not for beginners. They are designed for students ages 8–12 who are currently Primary through Lower 3 SRB students or dancers in this age range with at least one year of ballet experience. The week culminates with a special parent showing to celebrate our dancers’ hard work!

SRB Lower III Mini Intensive

*Must have completed Lower III Ballet

Students should be current SRB Lower III students or have a minimum of three years ballet training. Students new to SRB should contact Jamie Eagle at jeagle@richmondballet.com prior to enrolling.

The School of Richmond Ballet Mini Intensive is the perfect introduction to a summer intensive program! Students take a ballet class plus one related dance style each day – Character Dance, Modern, or Theatre Dance. Classes are held in the late afternoon three days per week to allow for family summer weekend activities.

June 23 – July 23, 2026: T-Th 4:00-6:30 PM

Mini Intensive Tuition: $515.00 for five week session.

Minds In Motion Camps

Open to all rising 5th-8th graders

July 27 -31, 2026: M-F 9:00am-4:00pm
August 3 – 7, 2026: M-F 9:00am-4:00pm

Camp tuition: $350 for one week

Get ready to move with Minds In Motion Summer Camp! Minds In Motion is renowned for connecting its engaging movement experiences with content based performances. Each day of MIM Summer Camp is filled with dance, creative movement, music, and related arts and crafts. Professionally trained teaching artists lead campers in an exploration of different dance styles and techniques. As campers learn about choreography and every aspect of a performance, they develop collaboration skills and grow in personal confidence. Join us for one of our camps this summer!

School Policies

GENERAL POLICIES

Building Opening
The Richmond Ballet building will open at 8:45 am.

Drop Off & Pick Up
Parents are requested to come into the building to drop off and pick up all students.

Personal Property
The School is not responsible for lost or stolen personal property. Please leave all valuables at home. Please label dancewear with student’s name.

Health & Wellness
Dance is a strenuous activity. The School suggests a complete physical to ensure the health and wellness of all students prior to starting classes.

Missed Classes
Absences should be reported prior to the missed class to Jamie Eagle, SRB Programs Administrator, 804.344.0906 x231.

Proper Attire
For safety, students should wear street clothes and shoes when entering and leaving the Richmond Ballet building.

Tuition & Registration
Tuition is non-refundable except in the case of serious illness or injury with written verification from a physician. The School of Richmond Ballet does not refund registration fees or deposits. Please read all financial information here.

Water Bottles
Students may bring non-breakable water bottles to class. Food and/or other beverages are allowed in designated snack areas only. Gum is not allowed in the School of Richmond building.

DRESS CODE

In keeping with the professional standards of the School of Richmond Ballet, we maintain a strict dress code for all students. Dress code attire can be purchased locally or online. For SRB Dance Camps, each student must wear appropriate dancewear for Ballet, Character Dance and Theatre Dance classes and bring a notebook and pencil.

Invitation to the Dance – Girls

Short sleeve, scoop neck leotard, pink or skin toned footed dance tights, or pink or white ankle socks, and pink or skin toned leather full-sole ballet shoes with elastic across the instep.
*Hair should be pulled back neatly from the face in a ballet bun or ponytail. No loose hair around face.

Invitation to the Dance – Boys

Black knit shorts and a white fitted t-shirt, black leather full-sole ballet shoes with elastic across the instep and white socks.
*No split sole or canvas ballet shoes; ballet shoes should be leather with elastic across in-step.

SRB Dance Camps – Girls

Short sleeve, scoop neck leotard, Pink or skin toned footed dance tights and pink or skin toned leather, full sole ballet shoes with elastic across the in-step.
*Hair should be pulled back neatly from the face in a ballet bun or ponytail. No loose hair around face.
For Theatre Dance and Character Dance classes: Jazz pants, jazz shoes and character dance skirts are optional (not required)

Additional Information

• No varied necklines, strings, halters, low backs, or decoration on leotards
• No skirts, sweats, warmers, jewelry, or watches
• No footless or rolled up tights in ballet classes
