In-School Performances

A Unique Experience Where Professional Dancers Visit Your School…

For An Exciting And Educational Look Into The World Of Dance. Each year, the professional dancers of Richmond Ballet present lecture demonstrations in area elementary schools. These demonstrations feature a theme based on classic ballet stories and provide a unique opportunity to see professional dancers “up close and personal.” The theme for the 2014-2015 season is DON QUIXOTE, which will introduce the full length story ballet performed by the professional company in February 2015 at the Carpenter Theatre.

Our 45-minute performances consist of several dance pieces, dialogue relating to the theme, and a student interaction/participation section, all presented by five members of the professional company. Dancers will take students on an exciting and entertaining journey!

Q&A Session

Following the presentation, the dancers answer student questions in a Q&A session.

Book Your School Today

We are now booking for the 2014-2015 school year!

Currently, Richmond Ballet performs lecture demonstrations in all Henrico and Chesterfield County Elementary Schools. If you know colleagues in these school districts, please contact them for an unsolicited opinion of the performance.

Because Richmond Ballet feels that the interaction between professional dancers and students is an invaluable experience, we have allocated additional lecture demonstration dates during the 2014-2015 school year to accommodate your school district.
