Studio One offers two poignant works about the versatility of the human spirit;
Clowns and Others choreographed by Salvatore Aiello and
Ershter Vals by Ma Cong. Set to the animated piano score of Sergei Prokofiev's
Visions Fugitives, Opus 22, Clowns and Others is a series of vignettes addressing all the different facets of human nature, and is sure to delight as each character humorously overcomes life's never-ending obstacles.
Ershter Vals, a completed version of Ma Cong's much-acclaimed contribution to the 2009 New Works Festival at Richmond Ballet, rounds out Studio One. This uplifting ballet focuses on the light people find in their relationships and communities during the darkest and most difficult of times.
