A Unique Experience Where Professional Dancers Visit Your School For An Exciting And Educational Look Into The World Of Dance.
Each year, the professional dancers of Richmond Ballet present lecture demonstrations in area elementary schools. These demonstrations emphasize a theme pertinent to a student’s everyday life and provide a unique opportunity to see professional dancers “up close and personal.”
Our 45-minute performances consist of several dance pieces, dialogue relating to a theme, and a student interaction/participation section, all presented by five members of the professional company. The theme for 2007-2008 is The Importance of Role Models In Building Character. Dancers will take students on an exciting and entertaining journey to discover what it takes to be an individual, make your own choices, and be your own person!
Following the presentation, the dancers answer student questions in a Q&A session, which is flexible and can be customized to suit each school’s needs. Currently, Richmond Ballet performs lecture demonstrations in all Henrico and Chesterfield County Elementary Schools. If you know colleagues in these school districts, please contact them for an unsolicited opinion of the performance.
Because Richmond Ballet feels that the interaction between professional dancers and students is an invaluable experience, we have allocated additional lecture demonstration dates during the 2007- 2008 school year to accommodate your school district.
We are now booking for the 2007- 2008 school year
